Bald Eagle Watching Days returns to Sauk Prairie Saturday, January 17, 2026 with a full day of eagle-focused programs, activities, and viewing opportunities along the Wisconsin River.
The event includes live raptor presentations, educational talks, family-friendly activities, information booths, and guided eagle viewing. Winter is one of the best times of year to see bald eagles in this area, as open water along the river attracts birds from across the region.
All events are free and open to the public, but passes are required. Tickets can be picked up the day of the event at the River Arts Center ticket booth.
This long-running community event is organized with support from the Ferry Bluff Eagle Council, whose work focuses on raptor education and conservation. A full schedule and additional details are available through their website. Click here.

For nearly 30 years, the Skillet Creek blog has focused on 3 main goals; To inspire you to visit and explore the Devil’s Lake region, to help you get the most out of your visit by sharing tips, events, and other helpful information. Lastly, to advocate for our environment & wildlife and talk about how we can keep our natural areas amazing now and into the future! That last goal can sometimes cause controversy, but it’s the only way we can accomplish the first two. – Derrick Mayoleth, Owner.
