Planning a trip to Devil’s Lake State Park? One of the first things to lock in is your lodging. Located in Baraboo, Wisconsin, just minutes from Wisconsin Dells, Devil’s Lake is at the heart of one of the Midwest’s most popular outdoor recreation areas. Whether you’re here to hike, swim, paddle, or simply relax, there are plenty of places to stay nearby.
You’ll find everything from rustic campgrounds and lakefront cabins to hotels, vacation rentals, and bed and breakfasts tucked into the Baraboo Hills. Baraboo lodging puts you closest to the park, but you’ll also find great options stretching from downtown to quiet country roads and toward the Dells.
Reservations are essential. Devil’s Lake’s three main campgrounds fill up fast—especially in summer—and can be reserved up to 11 months in advance. The same is often true for local hotels and vacation homes. No matter where you plan to stay, booking early is the best way to make sure you get the spot you want.
Where To Stay
When choosing lodging for your visit to Devil’s Lake State Park keep in mind that the city of Baraboo is 5 minutes from the park’s popular north entrance. Wisconsin Dells is located about 15 minutes north of the park and the villages of Sauk City / Prairie Du Sac are about 15 minutes south of the park. Lodging in the Merrimac area is all about 5 minutes from the park’s south shore entrance.
