This Week at Devil’s Lake — May 14, 2026
Most trails are in good summer condition. The Steinke Basin Trail and sections of the Uplands Trail may still have a few wet and muddy spots in the lowland areas.
The Balanced Rock Trail is in good shape; volunteers from the Ice Age Trail Alliance completed repairs on the rough sections, so it’s a clean climb to the top of the bluff. Shooting stars are blooming up there right now if you’re looking for a reason to make the push.
One heads-up for Monday: the Steinke Basin parking area will be closed from May 18 through approximately early July for reconstruction. All other parking areas at the park will remain open during this time.
