This Week at Devil’s Lake — June 18th, 2026
Area trails are in good shape heading into the weekend, but expect mud in spots from recent rain — particularly on the Steinke Basin Loop and the Uplands Trail. There are downed trees around the park as well. Nothing that should stop you, but worth knowing before you go.
Two plant hazards to keep in mind right now, especially on outlying trails: Poison Ivy and Wild Parsnip. Both are active. Watch for them along the trail edges and around benches on the less-traveled paths — they’re easy to brush up against if you’re not looking. Learn more – Poison ivy & Wild Parsnip (Mosquitos and ticks are in full force as well.) Stay on the path.
