For many families, memorial benches have been a meaningful way to honor loved ones and celebrate their connection to Devil’s Lake State Park. Over time, however, many of these benches have weathered and fallen into disrepair. Some have already been removed.
Today, the Friends of Devil’s Lake State Park are reaching out to families with memorial benches to offer two options: the opportunity to sponsor a new bench or to receive the original memorial plaque as a keepsake when a bench is retired.
In 2025, Friends member Randy Pfeifer generously created an updated map showing the memorial benches that remain in the park. We are grateful for his work and are pleased to share the most current version of the map below.
