
The Fairfield Marsh Waterfowl Production Area is located just off Highway 33 east of Baraboo and is part of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service’s Leopold Wetland Management District. While there are no hiking trails there is an observation area and hikers can explore 2 rough paths through tall grass and marshland. Visitors may commonly see sandhill cranes, Canada geese, a variety of wetland birds & ducks, deer and muskrats.
