Weekend Weather & Trail Conditions at Devil's Lake State Park. Expect temperatures in the 40s…
Bundle up and join us for some winter magic! Two of our local state parks are hosting candlelight events in the coming weeks. Whether you choose Devil’s Lake or Mirror Lake State Park (or both!), you’ll experience our winter landscapes (Hoping for snow!) transformed by the warm glow of candlelight. Here are all the details:
Devil’s Lake State Park Candlelight Hike
Saturday, January 25, 2025, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Join the Friends on a torchlit hike on Jan. 25 between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Stroll the approximately 1.5-mile trail from the Rock Elm Shelter up the hill to the Northern Lights campground, following the torches through the darkness. If it’s a clear night, marvel at the stars. Afterward, head over to the Rock Elm Shelter to enjoy s’mores made over the bonfire. Questions? Call tel:+1-608-448-6090

For nearly 2 decades the Skillet Creek blog has focused on 3 main goals; To inspire you to visit and explore the Devil’s Lake region, to help you get the most your visit by sharing tips, events, and other helpful information. Lastly to advocate for our environment & wildlife and talk about how we can keep our natural areas amazing now and into the future! That last goal can sometimes cause controversy, but it’s the only way we can accomplish the first two. – Derrick Mayoleth, Owner.
