There are so many holiday events these days, that it's nearly impossible (and expensive!) to…
With the Big Top Circus Parade being held this Saturday, June 8, in downtown Baraboo, campers might wonder if it’s possible to ride their bikes into town to watch the parade at 11 am. Well, sure! The trick is knowing which route to take and where to lock up your bike. We’ve got you covered.
So, the best route into Downtown Baraboo from Devil’s Lake State Park is to take Old Lake Road to the Baraboo Riverwalk Trail, then ride quiet residential streets to avoid the busiest roads (and a less-than-fun hill!). It will take you about 20 minutes give-or-take to ride the 3.5 miles to the downtown square.
Here’s a map!
The green paths are bike trails, the blue are quieter roads and the red icons are locations where you can find a bike rack to lock your bike up just outside of the parade route. Click here to open the map. Click any icon for pictures & descriptions.
Have fun and stay safe out there!
For nearly 2 decades the Skillet Creek blog has focused on 3 main goals; To inspire you to visit and explore the Devil’s Lake region, to help you get the most your visit by sharing tips, events, and other helpful information. Lastly to advocate for our environment & wildlife and talk about how we can keep our natural areas amazing now and into the future! That last goal can sometimes cause controversy, but it’s the only way we can accomplish the first two. – Derrick Mayoleth, Owner.
