Devil’s in the Details – Let’s Discuss
Master planning for state parks can be confusing and complex. A subject that seems simple on the surface can become complicated once you dive into the details. With Devil’s Lake State Park and Parfrey’s Glen, there is a lot to take in.
To help make sense of it all, we will be breaking down the DNR’s draft plan from our perspective on our Facebook page between now and November. We want to have open discussions to better understand the proposals that relate to our Devil’s Lake and Parfrey’s Glen.
This will allow us all to be better informed before providing feedback. We invite you to join the conversation on Facebook to share your perspective. Working together, we can ensure the master plan meets the needs of everyone who cherish these special places.
Your thoughts and insights are valued, so please follow our page and participate in the discussion. Let’s create an inspiring vision for the future of Devil’s Lake State Park and Parfrey’s Glen!

For nearly 2 decades the Skillet Creek blog has focused on 3 main goals; To inspire you to visit and explore the Devil’s Lake region, to help you get the most your visit by sharing tips, events, and other helpful information. Lastly to advocate for our environment & wildlife and talk about how we can keep our natural areas amazing now and into the future! That last goal can sometimes cause controversy, but it’s the only way we can accomplish the first two. – Derrick Mayoleth, Owner.
