There are so many holiday events these days, that it's nearly impossible (and expensive!) to…
Visitors to Devil’s Lake State Park this 4th of July weekend will have a few options for fireworks events in the area. The closest will be the “Barabooms” presented by Bachrodt Baraboo Motors featuring the Festival Foods Fireworks.
As of this moment, the events listed are set to go on as usual. But of course, be sure to check with official event websites for any changes.
Baraboo
The Barabooms event will be held on Tuesday, July 4th at the Sauk County Fairgrounds here in Baraboo. The event will start at 6:00 pm and will feature live music, food, and a kids’ area. The fireworks display will start at 9:30 pm.
Get There From The Park
Sauk-Prairie
Another option for fireworks is the “Fire on the Water” event in Sauk-Prairie. This event will be held from June 30th through July 1st and will feature fireworks over the Wisconsin River. The fireworks display will start on Saturday, July 1st at about 9:40 pm.
Wisconsin Dells
Finally, there will also be a 4th of July Celebration in Wisconsin Dells. This event will start with live music at 4pm and will feature fireworks at dusk.
Please note that fireworks are prohibited on all DNR-managed lands. This includes state parks, forests, and state-owned public hunting and fishing areas. Anything that flies or explodes is considered a firework. “Snakes” and sparklers are allowed, but always ask a ranger before using anything that may be questionable. – Read General Camping Rules. In addition, our part of the state is currently in severe drought conditions so you’ll want to be extra careful out there.
Also, remember that this will be a busy weekend at Devil’s Lake State Park. Please be patient and respectful of other visitors.

For nearly 2 decades the Skillet Creek blog has focused on 3 main goals; To inspire you to visit and explore the Devil’s Lake region, to help you get the most your visit by sharing tips, events, and other helpful information. Lastly to advocate for our environment & wildlife and talk about how we can keep our natural areas amazing now and into the future! That last goal can sometimes cause controversy, but it’s the only way we can accomplish the first two. – Derrick Mayoleth, Owner.
