There are so many holiday events these days, that it's nearly impossible (and expensive!) to…
On Saturday, June 24, 2023, Downtown Baraboo, Wisconsin, will once again play host to the historic Big Top Parade. As the hometown of the Ringling Brothers, Baraboo holds a significant place in the circus world, and this event serves to both celebrate and preserve this rich history.
Starting at 11:00 a.m., the parade will feature an array of unique attractions, from historic circus wagons to marching bands. Alongside these, the parade will showcase community floats, bringing together local businesses and groups in a creative display of community spirit and cohesion.
The parade’s theme this year is “Go West”, which aligns with Circus World’s 2023 big top show. George Althoff, Executive Director of the Baraboo Area Chamber of Commerce, expressed anticipation for the event, noting the excitement around the participation of local sponsors and community groups.
In addition to the parade, the weekend will be packed with circus-themed activities starting on Thursday evening with performances by Professor Stich’s Original Circus Band at Concerts on the Square.
Continuing the entertainment, the Al. Ringling Theatre will present various shows throughout the weekend, while downtown Baraboo will buzz with pre-parade performances by acrobats, aerialists, and clowns on Saturday morning.
Following the parade, attendees are encouraged to visit Circus World for the “Go West” big top show, with performances scheduled at 1:15 and 3:30 p.m.
