Devil's Lake State Park has been transformed into a winter wonderland, with 3-5 inches of…
It’s a winter wonderland at Devil’s Lake State Park! And it’s a good time to remind you that the park does not maintain hiking trails in the wintertime. Be careful!
All of the park’s trails are snow-covered and slippery. The popular East & West Bluff trails saw a lot of foot traffic over the last weekend and these trails are particularly icy. Be cautious around cliff edges and staircases. We advise anyone who hikes the trail this time of the year to have ice cleats at the ready.
Remember we also post regular trail condition reports here. We also love it when YOU share your trail experiences with us. We will happily share your experiences with our readers as well.
Have fun out there, but be careful!
For nearly 2 decades the Skillet Creek blog has focused on 3 main goals; To inspire you to visit and explore the Devil’s Lake region, to help you get the most your visit by sharing tips, events, and other helpful information. Lastly to advocate for our environment & wildlife and talk about how we can keep our natural areas amazing now and into the future! That last goal can sometimes cause controversy, but it’s the only way we can accomplish the first two. – Derrick Mayoleth, Owner.
