The 2024 deer gun season starts this weekend. Here in Sauk County, hunting of one…
On the morning of April 9th, when it was announced that many southern Wisconsin state parks would close, including Devil’s Lake, I was out capturing this virtual hike on the Tumbled Rocks Trail!
Here’s an opportunity to strap on some virtual headphones and head out on Tumbled Rocks. This video hike will take you from the north shore beach area all the way down to the first cabins on the south shore where the Tumbled Rocks trail meets Cottage Road. The hike (And the video…) take about 20 minutes. This was a nice morning hike, but the wind was really gusting which can really screw up a sound recording! So for this hike, I’ve mixed in some mellow acoustic folk music which is a much better experience than all that wind noise! Enjoy!
*** I always recommend watching these on your big screen if possible. Here’s the direct link: https://youtu.be/FBTaSw7N9UI
For nearly 2 decades the Skillet Creek blog has focused on 3 main goals; To inspire you to visit and explore the Devil’s Lake region, to help you get the most your visit by sharing tips, events, and other helpful information. Lastly to advocate for our environment & wildlife and talk about how we can keep our natural areas amazing now and into the future! That last goal can sometimes cause controversy, but it’s the only way we can accomplish the first two. – Derrick Mayoleth, Owner.
