Join the naturalist this Saturday, February 15th from 4 pm to 5:30 pm for a guided winter hike along the Steinke Basin Trail at Devil’s Lake! We’ll discover what’s starting to wake up when day transitions into night.
The hike will be just over 2 miles and we have plenty of snow after this past Sunday’s storm. We have around 10 inches of snow on the trail to snowshoe through. Bring your own or feel free to borrow a pair of snowshoes to use during the hike. Please come dressed for the weather.
Meet at the Steinke Basin Parking Lot.
This hike is best for older/teenage children and adults
Sorry, no pets on the twilight hike.

For nearly 2 decades the Skillet Creek blog has focused on 3 main goals; To inspire you to visit and explore the Devil’s Lake region, to help you get the most your visit by sharing tips, events, and other helpful information. Lastly to advocate for our environment & wildlife and talk about how we can keep our natural areas amazing now and into the future! That last goal can sometimes cause controversy, but it’s the only way we can accomplish the first two. – Derrick Mayoleth, Owner.
