As we start talking about changing leaves, it's good to note that fall colors are…
There’s about 10 inches of fresh snow in the park this week! Who’s planning to get out and break trail?
Yesterday’s snowstorm roared into the Baraboo Hills early in the morning (The video above was taken about 9 am.) and lasted through the daylight hours. As you can imagine it’s going to take a little while to get the parking lots cleared! In fact, as of 10 am this morning, all outlying parking lots including Parfrey’s Glen have about 10 inches of snow in them and have not been cleared. Still, you’ll see a few tire tracks from the folks who were anxious to get out and enjoy the fresh snow and blue skies this Monday morning!
Remember, you can borrow snowshoes for free at the Devil’s Lake State Park Nature Center during normal hours.
For nearly 2 decades the Skillet Creek blog has focused on 3 main goals; To inspire you to visit and explore the Devil’s Lake region, to help you get the most your visit by sharing tips, events, and other helpful information. Lastly to advocate for our environment & wildlife and talk about how we can keep our natural areas amazing now and into the future! That last goal can sometimes cause controversy, but it’s the only way we can accomplish the first two. – Derrick Mayoleth, Owner.
