Wisconsin's fall colors are amazing, and Devil's Lake State Park is one of the best…
With the warm temps and the ice clear of snow, it’s been a great time to play on the ice at Devil’s Lake, however the ice has been melting as well and the DNR is cautioning folks that ice conditions are getting, “tricky”.
The weekend forecast is calling for temperatures around 50f both Saturday and Sunday (Dec 28-29, 2019) with rain and freezing rain over the night time hours. In addition to using caution on the lake itself, we recommend using caution on the East Bluff and West Bluff staircases and overlooks, especially in the morning hours.
Have fun, be safe!
For nearly 2 decades the Skillet Creek blog has focused on 3 main goals; To inspire you to visit and explore the Devil’s Lake region, to help you get the most your visit by sharing tips, events, and other helpful information. Lastly to advocate for our environment & wildlife and talk about how we can keep our natural areas amazing now and into the future! That last goal can sometimes cause controversy, but it’s the only way we can accomplish the first two. – Derrick Mayoleth, Owner.
