The summer crowd is still hanging around... Autumn is getting later. It's easy to see…
The bluffs of Devil’s Lake State Park can create some interesting air currents. At the southern corner of the East Bluff, it’s common for cool air from the north end to meet warmer air coming in from the east to create some nice thermals for our vultures and a bit of chop on the lake.
This morning when 5f degree air from the shaded north shore, met the quickly warming dawn air on the south end flowing in from the east, not only did we have swirling fog, but some pretty impressive funnels as well. Thing is, I’m not sure what you call ’em!
We posted a bit of video on our Facebook Page as well.
For nearly 2 decades the Skillet Creek blog has focused on 3 main goals; To inspire you to visit and explore the Devil’s Lake region, to help you get the most your visit by sharing tips, events, and other helpful information. Lastly to advocate for our environment & wildlife and talk about how we can keep our natural areas amazing now and into the future! That last goal can sometimes cause controversy, but it’s the only way we can accomplish the first two. – Derrick Mayoleth, Owner.
