Happy New Year! Thank you for being here! We are so thankful for your engagement…
Yep, things look a bit different and some stuff has moved around! For a website that’s been around since 1996, we’re on a once every decade update cycle! The number one goal with this update has been increasing readability and enhancing some of our local outdoor recreation information outside of Devil’s Lake State Park. You’ll see other updates as you look around as well.
The one thing that is still out in the future is an update of all of our campsite images. Step one was updating the image maps and creating a “gallery” view which you’ll find now for each campground. Step 2 is going to have to wait until it gets green outside. Then I’ll start working on updating all of the photographs!
Another “big” update is our new Trail Reports page. You can book mark this page to keep up with trail conditions. In addition to our team of trail reporters, YOU can also help us by reporting your experience on the trails as well. Just click on “Add Your Report” at the bottom of the page to submit your own trail reports!
So I think that’s it. This is going to be a shake down week. If you find any errors or typos, let me know!! At a certain point while developing a new site, you go downright blind! Anyway, I hope you find the new layout easier to read, easier to navigate and that you discover some new stuff along the way!
For nearly 2 decades the Skillet Creek blog has focused on 3 main goals; To inspire you to visit and explore the Devil’s Lake region, to help you get the most your visit by sharing tips, events, and other helpful information. Lastly to advocate for our environment & wildlife and talk about how we can keep our natural areas amazing now and into the future! That last goal can sometimes cause controversy, but it’s the only way we can accomplish the first two. – Derrick Mayoleth, Owner.
